Patchwallet is a digital solution which is reducing the complexity of web3 onboarding by allowing users hold cryptocurrencies using their social accounts e.g Twitter ,G-mail rather than having a key phrase
Problem
We were having a lot of feedback from the community concerning our wallet page being confusing and users were leaving our platform without being able to fund their wallet or even see their wallet address they got to the wallet page and got stuck.
Process
My first step was to analyze our competitors' wallet pages and noticed similarities that we lacked.
I have identified some issues with the wallet header and they were
Our inspirations like Sequence ,Metamask had clear actions like Send , Swap and we just had vague icons .
No option to copy wallet addresses so users could not send cryptocurrencies to their Patchwallet.
The total balance is normally located at the centre of the wallet card and since this is what users are expecting to see I suggested we follow user’s mental model from their experiences using crypto products
After researching and seeing the problems, I came up with a sketch to get my ideas on paper ,nothing fancy just something to address current issues with our wallet header
After sketching out this idea,i started designing the new wallet header with components from our style guide called Patch so it would still look like the current card but with some improved modifications.
After some iterations and meetings with stakeholders, this was the final wallet card that was approved
Putting the balance in the centre and making it bold so users can see their balances in their wallet.
Clear call to actions allowing users to make decisions
Uers can now copy their wallet addresses and send or receive crypto in their wallet.
Outcome
We tested the new wallet header design first on the application and the new design outperformed the old which saw over 50% increase in retention rate due to the ease of use
